Now this is a question that I can’t answer. The government is very focused on ill health and how to spend our tax dollars on giving people good medical care – after they are sick. No government, that I know of, has been actively involved in sickness prevention. However, the Mayor of New York, gave the city 5 years to cut out it’s use of trans-fats in restaurants and fast food outlets, so he was smart enough to listen to a well educated person. And Denmark started the reduction in trans fats in 2003, so they were even ahead of New York. But we don’t have too many of those kinds of politicians around, so the responsibility falls to you, as an educated consumer, to make better decisions regarding the types of fats and oils that you consume.
