Why Does The Oil Blend Contain Soya Lecithin?

There are a number of reasons why lecithin has been added to the oil blend:

  • Lecithin contains choline, a building block of the neurotransmitter acetyl-choline. This neurotransmitter is required for optimal brain and nerve function.
  • Lecithin helps the liver to synthesize and use fats properly.
  • It acts as a natural emulsifier too, helping to break fats down into smaller components, further aiding digestion and absorption.
  • Lecithin also helps to keep cholesterol soluble, keeps it from lining arteries, protects it from oxidation and also helps to prevent and dissolve gall bladder and kidney stones, because it helps to emulsify various fats.
  • It helps the liver to perform its detoxing functions optimally, which is important to prevent cancer.
  • It is helpful in keeping the thymus gland working well, and is very important in helping cell membranes work optimally, as it is an important part of phospholipid functioning.
  • It is also an important component of bile, which aids in the digestion of fats too, using enzymes.

Although lecithin is not an essential nutrient, as we can make it if we have enough Essential Fatty Acids (EFA’s), choline and phosphate available in our diet, Dr Udo Erasmus chose to add it to his oil blends, as it plays a valuable role in people’s health, who may not have the raw materials available in their bodies, and who need the benefits it can provide quickly.

The soya added to the oil blend is organic and GM free.
